We encourage people to come in a way that most suits who they are. Some people wear "business casual" clothing, while others wear jeans and a t-shirt. We want you to be comfortable worshiping with us, so please just “Come as You Are!”
You will be greeted by one of our Greeters just outside the Worship Center doors. They will give you a Worship Guide, which will have specific details about the upcoming Worship Service. We also have a Welcome Center set up just outside the Worship Center with information about our church, ready to answer any questions you may have! Between our 9:15 and our 10:45 Worship Services, we encourage you to join us in the courtyard where we have donuts and coffee. It is a great place for families attending both Worship Services to connect with one another.
We have a tremendous Children’s Ministry at SBWC, called Rock City! The ministry is designed to partner with parents and invest in the spiritual growth of your children. Our Ministry Leaders love Jesus and eagerly await the opportunity to connect with your family! Rock City is split into 2 age groups, Uptown (located upstairs) for Infant through Preschool ages, and Downtown (located downstairs) for Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our Children’s Check-In Desk and lobby is located adjacent to the Worship Center. We have a simple check-in process that is safe and secure. For more about our Children's Ministry here.
It generally lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We begin with a joyful time of praise, led by a full worship band of drums, guitars, keyboards, and vocalists. The music is contemporary and celebratory. We believe that God will lead you in the worship style you feel most comfortable with. Our Pastor is down-to-earth, humorous and genuinely caring, desiring for your family to encounter God in a real way. His messages are biblical, passionate, creative and relevant to the needs of everyday life, often incorporating visual illustrations, drama or other creative means to reinforce the truths of the message. We are a Southern Baptist Church that fully embraces the Holy Spirit and the proper exercise of His Gifts. We are grateful to be a part of a Baptist tradition that emphasizes faithfulness to the Word of God and Reaching the Lost. At the same time, we are grateful for the fervor and enthusiasm which may be characterized of more charismatic churches. Our desire is to be committed to both as faithfully as we can! We believe worshiping God is the most exciting thing on earth and therefore we encourage people to worship God with enthusiasm!
